I'm excited to resurrect my Style Staple Series, where I bring you must-have closet staples and great inspiration on how to style them. There are many closet staples for each season and with spring literally a few days away I am going to narrow my focus on jackets. Last spring I published a post on styling the utility jacket (also known as the army or field jacket). The series continues with the ever popular jean jacket. This true classic is always in style and breaks out of every fashionista's closet the moment the temperatures start rising and the snow starts melting!
There are so many different jean jackets currently on the market. From distressed, fitted, cropped and boyfriend styles to various washes; it's really a matter of what style you feel most comfortable and confident in. I am a big fan of a medium wash, fitted jean jacket like this one from Madewell. It literally goes with everything and will last season after season.
I've pulled together some of the best jean jacket style inspiration photos from my ever growing Pinterest account. Wear your jean jacket over a great summer maxi or mini dress or over a cute romper. Tie it around your waist or add some Chanel pins. I really love a jean jacket paired with floral prints, stripes, eyelet, lace or white skinny jeans. Currently the denim on denim trend is incredibly hot so if you are bold enough to dawn the Canadian tuxedo I recommend varying the washes of your denim.
