The Shaw Cafe - have you ever seen so many colourful flowers?!
Last week my significant other and I travelled to Niagara-On-The-Lake for a little summer getaway. It's one of our favourite places to visit and we go at least twice a year. It's just a short 90 minute drive from Toronto but feels like worlds away. We were so fortunate to have the most perfect summer weather while we were there despite the gloomy weather forecast (who wants to go wine tasting in the rain?). We enjoyed the warm sunshine while we walked around the quaint historic village (which was literally covered in the most colourful lush blooms, as you can see in my photos), visited a couple wineries and a brewery. We stopped in at Reif Estate Winery, Ravine Vineyard and the Oast House Brewery for tastings. I enjoy very dry white wines and both wineries had delicious options. My boyfriend loves good craft beer and he savoured the beer options at Oast House. While in Niagara-On-The-Lake we stayed the night at the highly rated Queen's Landing hotel, which is located just off the main street and has beautiful views of the water and harbour. I am a huge fan of this hotel because they provide lovely accommodations, incredible service, delectable food at their Tiara Restaurant and they offer many promotions throughout the year. Our little getaway to wine country was the perfect way to kick off the summer season and I look forward to returning soon. Cheers!
